22nd May 2024 - Broadway v Chesham - Won 91 - 54 (14-0)

Following a day of heavy rain where there was a doubt over whether the game would be played we did manage to play and we got off to a good start to the group stage by taking maximum points against Chesham. Keith Young, Pete Coyne & Paul Rogers played out a tight game away and after 15 ends the scores were level at 12-12. We then picked up 3 shots from the next 2 ends and managed to hold on for a 15-13 win. Ray England, Lee Adams & Lewis Fletcher got off to a slow start in their game, going 8-0 down after 3 ends and by the half way stage they were 13-9 down however the game started to change and we only lost 1 more end during the match which we went on to win 22-14. At home Bryan Collins, Stuart Churcher & Ian Culmer found themselves 13-3 down after 9 ends however they then picked up a 6 to give themselves hope and they then went on to win the last 5 ends to snatch the game 18-17. Kieran Jaycock, Thomas Jaycock & Roger Crick got off to a great start in their game picking up 11 shots from the first 2 ends and from there they continued to dominate the game and ended up winning 36-10.

5th June 2024 - Broadway v Marlow - Won 68 - 57 (12-2)

This evening we played Marlow lknowing that with Chessvale having to withdraw from the competition that a win would ensure top spot in Division 3 and a home game in the quarter finals.  At home Kieran Jaycock, Thomas Jaycock and Roger Crick got off to a great start going 18-0 ahead after 8 ends and although their scoring slowed down from there as the visitors started to come to terms with the green we finished with a 25-6 win. Bill Caple, Ian Culmer & Stuart Churcher took control of their game early on and maintained their lead throughout and went on to win 14-10. Keith Young, Pete Coyne & Paul Rogers were playing at Marlow and they also took an early lead, going 7-1 ahead after 5 ends and they only lost 6 ends during the game as they went on to win 20-12. Kevin Lewis, Lee Adams & Lewis Fletcher had a tough game, dropping a 5 on the 2nd end and they struggled to get back in to the game and dropped another 5 on the 7th end. Despite losing 29-9 we managed to secure the overall win and 3 winning rinks to earn 12 points.

14th July 2024 - Broadway v Bletchley Town - Won 78 - 67

This morning, after a few weeks break whilst other divisions completed their games, we were back in action in the Bucks Cup. Having secured the home tie courtesy of winning our division we welcomed a strong Bletchley Town team to Broadway. This was always going to be a tough game but we were looking to make the most of our home advantage so a good start was going to be crucial and we managed to get a good start. Bill Caple, Pete Coyne & Paul Rogers took the early lead and despite the scores going back to level we they took the lead again and from there never lost the lead again. Thue picked up 3 fours in the game and went on to win 23-17. Kieran Jaycock, Bryan Collins & Roger Crick picked up a 6 on the 2nd end and from there they also never lost the lead and won 11 of the ends on their way to a 22-12 win. Dan Rogers, Thomas Jaycock & Lewis Fletcher took the early lead in their game and by the 10th end they were 13-5 ahead however they then lost the next 6 ends to go in to the last end 16-13 down however they picked up a 3 on the last end to draw 16-16. Despite s low start in their game Malcolm Robins, John Read and Stuart Churcher found themselves 17-3 down after 9 ends however they kept on battling throughout the rest of the match and they only lost 2 more ends and finished up losing 22-17. A great determined fightback that meant we won the overall match by 11 shots to earn a place in the semi finals on the 4th August.
